ITEM 3 — Transportation <br /> Commissioner Jordan said that SamTrans has issued a contract to the Yellow <br /> Van Company for lift service (where taxis cannot transport a handicapped <br /> person). Sensitivity training is also included in the contract. SamTrans <br /> is now allocating the budget for paratransit services and TRIPS is watching <br /> this process. <br /> ITEM 4 — Commission Workplan Review <br /> Chairperson Anthony said he felt it was extremely important that all <br /> Commissioners contribute to the workplan and be on the committee,to review <br /> it. The following Commissioners were assigned to review specific areas of <br /> the workplan: <br /> (1) Transportation: Anthony and Jordan <br /> (2) Liability: <br /> (3) Housing/Reverse Mortages: Lloyd and Sharp <br /> (4) Information & Referral Services: 800 number with County <br /> (5) Consultation with other Cities/Counties: When need arises <br /> on plan, Countywide workshop on issues affecting older adults <br /> (6) Nutrition: Sharp and and Supervisor Kucala <br /> (7) Day Care & Adult Day Health: wait until results of survey <br /> (8) Long Term Care/Nursing Homes: wait until results of survey <br /> (9) Environmental Issues/Recycling: BFI already doing a good job. <br /> Chairperson Anthony said he would like to see committee meetings and <br /> committee organization at the two senior centers. <br /> The regular meeting of the Senioor Affairs Commission was adjourned at <br /> 10:15am to be reconvened at 9:00am on Wednesday, July 8, 1992 at the Senior <br /> Center Annex, 711 Nevada Street, Redwood City, California. <br />
