SENIOR AFFAIRS COMMISSION <br /> MINUTES OF WEDNESDAY, AUGUST 12, 1992 <br /> COMMISSIONERS PRESENT: Chairperson Anthony, <br /> Commissioners Berglund, Lloyd, <br /> Metzdorf, Sharp and Truscelli <br /> COMMISSIONERS ABSENT: Commissioner Jordan <br /> STAFF PRESENT: Park and Recreation <br /> Superintendent Sally Hartman and <br /> Recreation Supervisor Mary Kucala <br /> GUESTS PRESENT: Executive Director Maria <br /> Bransford <br /> Chairperson Anthony called the regular meeting of the Senior Affairs <br /> Commission to order at 9:00 a.m. at the Fair Oaks Senior Center, 2600 <br /> Middlefield Road, Redwood City, California. <br /> APPROVAL OF MINUTES <br /> The minutes of the July meeting were approved as mailed. <br /> CORRESPONDENCE <br /> -Chairperson Anthony received a response letter from PG&E indicating the <br /> free services they offer to their customers. <br /> ITEM 1 - Vital Concerns of Seniors Survey <br /> The questionnaire has been revised and consolidated and was presented to <br /> the Commissioners for their review. A pilot survey will be given to 10 <br /> seniors from Fair Oaks Senior Center and 10 seniors from the Veterans <br /> Senior Center prior to mass distribution. The Commissioners made some <br /> changes to the survey form which will also be made to the pilot form. <br /> After the pilot surveys are completed, the Commissioners will receive <br /> feedback from the participants and will revise the form again before <br /> distribution to the general public. <br /> ITEM 2 - Transportation <br /> This matter was deferred until the September meeting. <br /> ITEM 3 - Presentation of Fall Programs <br /> Supervisor Kucala explained a new format for advertising fall classes for <br /> seniors. She said the Veterans Senior Center will no longer have pages in <br /> the Fall Recreation brochure and the Center will be doing a more <br /> comprehensive package which will be easier for seniors to read and which <br /> will be available at the Center. Supervisor Kucala announced the 10th <br /> Anniversary Party/Open House to be held on December 17 from l0am-2pm at the <br /> Veterans Senior Center. She said Peninsula Moviemakers will have completed <br /> their video of senior events and will show the video at the party. <br />
