SENIOR AFFAIRS COMMISSION <br /> MINUTES OF THURSDAY, NOVEMBER 12, 1992 <br /> COMMISSIONERS PRESENT: Chairperson Anthony, <br /> Commissioners Berglund, Lloyd, <br /> and Jordan <br /> COMMISSIONERS ABSENT: Commissioners Metzdorf, Sharp, <br /> and Truscelli <br /> STAFF PRESENT: Park & Recreation Superinendent <br /> Sally Hartman, Recreation <br /> Supervisor Mary Kucala, Library <br /> Supervisor Val Hamilton, Secretary <br /> Denise Monroe and Joan Ferguson <br /> GUESTS PRESENT: None <br /> Chairperson Anthony called the regular meeting of the Senior Affairs <br /> Commission to order at 9:10 a.m. at the Senior Center Annex, 711 Nevada <br /> Street, Redwood City, California. <br /> APPROVAL OF MINUTES <br /> The minutes of the October meeting were approved as mailed. <br /> CORRESPONDENCE <br /> There was no correspondence. <br /> Chairperson Anthony mentioned the recent passing of former Senior Affairs <br /> Commissioner Cliff Miller and his contribution to seniors in Redwood City. <br /> ITEM 1 - Vital Concerns of Seniors Survey <br /> Chairperson Anthony announced the Senior Advisory Council donated $600.00 <br /> to help with the printing and distribution of 3,000 copies of the survey. <br /> The surveys will be distributed at both senior centers, churches, <br /> libraries, mobile home parks and any other facility which may serve <br /> seniors. A revised copy of the survey was given to each Commissioner for <br /> their review. Chairperson Anthony asked that the deadline to return the <br /> surveys be extended to December 30, 1992. The Commissioners reviewed the <br /> survey form and made several changes to finalize it. <br /> M/S Jordan/Lloyd: To adopt the revised survey. <br /> Motion passed. <br /> Chairperson Anthony thanked everyone for their assistance in developing the <br /> senior survey. <br /> The following items were taken out of order: <br /> ITEM 3 - Sequoia Awards Program <br /> Superintendent Hartman received a letter announcing the Second Annual <br /> Sequoia Awards to be held on February 17, 1993. The awards will be <br /> presented to the outstanding citizen, youth and company or organization. <br /> She gave out nomination forms to each Commissioner should they care to <br />
