SENIOR AFFAIRS COMMISSION MINUTES OF WEDNESDAY, MAY 12, 1993 COMMISSIONERS PRESENT: Commissioners Berglund, Metzdorf, Sharp and Truscelli COMMISSIONERS ABSENT: Chairperson Anthony, Commissioners Jordan and Lloyd STAFF PRESENT: Park & Recreation Superintendent Sally Hartman, Recreation Supervisor Mary Kucala, Library Supervisor Val Hamilton and Secretary Denise Monroe GUESTS PRESENT: Executive Director Maria Bransford Acting Chairperson Truscelli called the regular meeting of the Senior Affairs Commission to order at 9:07 a.m. at the Senior Center Annex, 711 Nevada Street, Redwood City, California. APPROVAL OF MINUTES The minutes of the April meeting were approved as mailed. CORRESPONDENCE There was no correspondence. ITEM 1 - Vital Concerns of Seniors Survey Tally Report Superintendent Hartman said Chairperson Anthony has finished the tally of all the surveys but wants to re-cap all the information onto one sheet and hopes to have it done by next meeting. Supervisor Kucala volunteered to work with Chairperson Anthony to compile all the comments and tally information received from the surveys and put them on her computer. ITEM 2 - Plan for Proposed Study Session Superintendent Hartman suggested establishing a sub-committee to develop goals and objectives and to strategize for the study session. She said she, Chairperson Anthony and Commissioner Lloyd have volunteered to be on the sub-committee. She asked if Supervisor Kucala and Executive Director Bransford and any of the other Commissioners would like to be on the sub-committee. Commissioner Truscelli said he felt it was better to have only a few Commissioners speak on behalf of the Commission at the study session rather than the entire Commission. Superintendent Hartman mentioned the study session would probably be held in September or October due to the budget hearings scheduled by the City Council.
