SENIOR AFFAIRS COMMISSION MINUTES OF WEDNESDAY, OCTOBER 13, 1993 COMMISSIONERS PRESENT: Chairperson Anthony, Commissioners Berglund, Jordan, Lloyd, Metzdorf, Sharp and Truscelli COMMISSIONERS ABSENT: None STAFF PRESENT: Park and Recreation Superintendent Sally Hartman, Assistant Recreation Center Supervisor Chris Oliver, Library Supervisor Val Hamilton, and Secretary Denise Monroe GUESTS PRESENT: Executive Director Maria Bransford, TEWCI Chairperson Roger Willey Chairperson Anthony called the regular meeting of the Senior Affairs Commission to order at 9:00a.m. at the Fair Oaks Senior Center, 2600 Middlefield Road, Redwood City, California. APPROVAL OF MINUTES The minutes of the September meeting were approved as mailed. CORRESPONDENCE There was no correspondence. ITEM 1 - Review of City Council Presentation Superintendent Hartman acknowledged all the Commissioners and staff who made the presentation to the City Council a success. She said Chairperson Anthony and Commissioner Lloyd did a great job in presenting the facts and Mary Kucala and Maria Bransford did an excellent job doing the preliminary work and providing the information and facts which were used in the presentation. She felt it was important for the City Council and audience to hear this pertinent information which focused on senior issues. She received good comments from everyone and said the Commission made a good impression with their presentation and thanked everyone for their help. Chairperson Anthony thanked Superintendent Hartman for her help and assistance with the presentation. He said he felt that the presentation was well received by the City Council and the audience. He felt the survey results were helpful in showing how seniors felt about their current situations. The information booklets which were given to the City Council will also be given to all Department Heads.
