SENIOR AFFAIRS COMMISSION <br /> Wednesday, August 8, 1984 <br /> COMMISSIONERS PRESENT: Chairman Tom Jordan, Sally Salinas, Beryl <br /> Darnell, Ethel Mears, Clifford Miller , <br /> Frank Sheetz, Max Gerfen <br /> STAFF PRESENT: Jim Irizarry, Director of Human Resources <br /> Sally Hartman, P&R Superintendent <br /> Mary Kucala, Veterans Senior Center <br /> Corinne Centeno, Fair Oak Comm. Center <br /> Sheri Ott, Recording Secretary <br /> Meeting was called to order at 9:00 a.m. by Chairman Jordan. <br /> Minutes of the July meeting were approved as submitted. <br /> Chairman Jordan added an additional agenda item to be discussed at <br /> this meeting. . .Agenda Item 3. Veterans Memorial Senior Center. <br /> Parking. <br /> AGENDA ITEM l.. Update of Fair Oaks Community Center Nutritional <br /> Relocation Site <br /> The Senior Affairs Commission's subcommittee presented a brief <br /> report of their meeting relative to relocating the nutrition <br /> program. Several points were introduced: <br /> (1) Having the Traffic Engineer survey the parking situation at <br /> the Fair Oaks Senior Center. <br /> (2) Having the Fire Marshall and Building Official inspect and <br /> determine the safety of the Fair Oak Senior Center facility. <br /> (3) The subcommittee making 2-3 presentations at the nutritional <br /> site meetings to inform the citizens regarding what is <br /> happening in reference to transfer of the nutritional pro- <br /> gram. Also to discuss the pros and cons of the proposed <br /> move with the site users. <br /> • <br /> (4) To conduct a survey to determine how the site users feel <br /> about a transfer of the program and to determine if a <br /> transfer would affect the attendance of the program. A draft <br /> copy of the survey to be used was submitted for review by <br /> the subcommittee. Some minor changes were made to the survey <br /> form and approval was given by the Commission to the sub- <br /> committee to use the survey form (as corrected) . <br />
