SENIOR AFFAIRS COMMISSION <br /> MINUTES OF THURSDAY, MARCH 14, 2002 <br /> COMMISSIONERS PRESENT: Chairperson Harrison, Commissioners <br /> Borgens, Carpe, Grove, Moran (arrived <br /> 1:40pm), L. Walsh, and M. Walsh <br /> COMMISSIONERS ABSENT: None <br /> GUESTS PRESENT: Susan Houston, Ethel Robinson <br /> STAFF PRESENT: Manager Linda Griffith, Recreation Supervisor Yelena <br /> Devyatova, Cindy Jimenez, Secretary Denise Monroe <br /> The regular meeting of the Senior Affairs Commission was called to order by <br /> Chairperson Jean Harrison at 1:05pm in the Goldstar Room of the Veterans <br /> Memorial Senior Center, 1455 Madison Avenue, Redwood City, California. <br /> APPROVAL OF MINUTES <br /> Commissioner Walsh requested a correction to the February minutes, Item 2 <br /> under Transportation. The name of the Executive Director of City Association <br /> of Governments should be Mr. Napiur. <br /> M/S M.Walsh/Grove: To approve the February minutes as <br /> corrected. <br /> Motion passed. <br /> CORRESPONDENCE <br /> Commissioner L. Walsh requested that the Commission receive copies of the <br /> letters sent to local legislators thanking them for supporting campaign <br /> finance reform. <br /> ITEM 1 — LUNCHEON PROGRAM <br /> Commissioner M. Walsh reported that the committee decided to have all <br /> future luncheons at the Veterans Memorial Senior Center. Commissioner Leo <br /> Walsh will be responsible for advertising to local churches and Commissioner <br /> Marie Walsh will be responsible for advertising to local newspapers. Cost of <br /> the luncheons will be $3.50 per person and will be scheduled for Thursdays, <br /> unless our guest speakers request a change. Commissioner M. Walsh <br /> announced the luncheon dates have been set for 2002 and the next luncheon <br /> will be held on May 16. <br />
