SENIOR AFFAIRS COMMISSION <br /> MINUTES OF THURSDAY, JUNE 13, 2002 <br /> COMMISSIONERS PRESENT: Commissioners Carpe, Grove, Moran and <br /> M. Walsh and L. Walsh <br /> COMMISSIONERS ABSENT: Chairperson Harrison <br /> GUESTS PRESENT: Susan Houston, John Dempsey, Pat O'Rourke, Clarence <br /> Juett and eleven guests <br /> STAFF PRESENT: Managers Linda Griffith and Teri Chin, Administrative Clerk <br /> Kathy Bede <br /> The regular meeting of the Senior Affairs Commission was called to order by <br /> Vice Chairperson Deborah Grove at 1:00pm in the Rooms 4, 5 and 6 of the <br /> Fair Oaks Senior Center, 2600 Middlefield Road, Redwood City, California. <br /> APPROVAL OF MINUTES <br /> M/S M.Walsh/Moran: To approve the May minutes as mailed. <br /> Motion passed. <br /> CORRESPONDENCE <br /> Commissioner L. Walsh reported that ABC television had informally replied <br /> that they would be able to attend, but not participate in, a town meeting in <br /> Redwood City regarding health care. <br /> Commissioner L. Walsh will present information received from Sequoia <br /> Healthcare District later in the meeting. <br /> Manager Griffith reported that she had received an invitation to a housing <br /> symposium on June 29, 2002 and requested further discussion when housing <br /> is the topic. <br /> ORAL COMMUNICATION <br /> Pat O'Rourke requested information as to how to obtain a disabled card to <br /> ride fixed routes on SamTrans. Commissioner Carpe will have SamTrans <br /> contact Ms. O'Rourke. <br /> ITEM 1 — HEALTHCARE SYMPOSIUM <br /> Commissioner Grove reported that the Healthcare Symposium originally <br /> scheduled for Saturday, September 21, 2002 has been indefinitely postponed <br /> until more seniors are willing to participate and a co-sponsor is recruited to <br />
