We would like the
opportunity to operate a school on the premises and make use of its outstanding facilities per its originally
intended use, which, in our opinion, would positively benefit the neighborhood and community at large.
The buildings and grounds of the Redwood Baptist church are beautiful and just the setting that we
envisioned for our school. We believe that it would be such a shame not to put to good use the attractive
architectural buildings and grounds; we cannot think of anyone more deserving than young children to
enjoy the safe and idyllic hilltop setting.
POSITIVE ASPECTS THAT CAMBRIDGE ACADEMY BRINGS TO THE COMMUNITY
Our school will remain a small family run business whose focus will always be "students first ". Our proposed
distribution of classes is laid out below.
Our school will help address the rapidly growing and ongoing need for quality education by providing the
highest levels of private education to the community that offers excellent value for money. We also believe
that a quality school in the area will positively influence house values in the neighborhood.
The founders will make a sincere effort to maintain a harmonious relationship with neighbors and the
community, and work collaboratively to address and alleviate any matters of concern.
We began our neighborhood outreach engagement on April 7 and while only a few neighbors were home at
the time, we had the pleasure of meeting the daughter of one of the neighbors who grew up on Euclid
Avenue and whose parents have lived in the neighborhood for over 60 years. She expressed her genuine
delight, and on behalf of her parents, at the prospect of having a school located on the premises once again.
She went on to say that she and many of her family members attended the school years ago over a span of
seventeen years and said that it has been always a school site. We also visited a young mother that moved
into the neighborhood a year ago who was excited to have a school that her daughter and nephew could
attend. We then chatted with a few other neighbors who were open to the prospect of having a school for
young children on the site of The Redwood City Baptist Church. We plan to continue our neighborhood
outreach program over the coming weeks and continue to seek good relations with our prospective
neighbors.
Nicholas and Carol Berg have always placed invaluable worth on educating their own children and would
welcome the opportunity to directly coach and positively steer the lives of children who by nature of their
circumstance would not have otherwise been so fortunate. Once the school becomes fully established, we
hope, in some small way, to reach out to disadvantaged children in the immediate or neighboring
community by periodically making free tuition available to one child for the duration of his /her stay at
Cambridge Academy. This tuition benefit will amount to in excess of $100,000 over 7 years.
\.106R/6 2323 EUCLID AVENUE
UI P r» REDWOOD Cu, Y CA 94061 CONFIDENTIAL Page 1 of 12
vJ-> TEL: (650) 814 -8954
