He said <br /> that the Chambers is celebrating its 115th annual awards dinner banquet this Friday <br /> and shared information on the honorees and award recipients including an <br /> announcement that there would be a surprise Person of the Year. <br /> Mayor Gee announced that incoming Chair Gino Gasparini will be honored at the event. <br /> Tanya Gulesserien, office manager of an apartment building, spoke about their <br /> concerns on the needs for more parking and opined that while parking permits bring in <br /> substantial money to the city, parking garages have reached or passed critical capacity. <br /> She commented in detail on Item 7.1 B asking that Exhibit A be corrected and staff be <br /> directed to amend the agreement for the actual total number of parking spaces. She <br /> spoke in favor of following the recommendations of the parking study that was <br /> presented back in October where Council sets the rates and to have staff collect more <br /> information before moving forward. <br /> Dr. Bell said that he thanks everyone's patience and he also spoke about a parking <br /> advisory committee, and in terms of the recommendations, what will happen is that the <br /> public will see a new strategy and rates. He also spoke about long term strategies for <br /> the City including building a parking lot behind City Hall. He thanked the speaker for the <br /> feedback. <br /> Susan Borbek, a resident on Redwood Ave, said they are long overdue for a stop sign <br /> on Redwood Avenue and Gordon Street due to the numerous accidents that have <br /> occurred at this intersection. She expressed deep concern about safety, preserving life, <br /> and that people speed between Hudson, Redwood and Valota. She felt it was <br /> important to come to prevent further injury and death as her cat was recently hit and <br /> killed in front of her home and the person did not stop. <br /> It was announced that agenda item 7.1 H was being pulled from the Consent Calendar. <br /> M/S Foust/Aguirre to approve the Consent Calendar excluding agenda item 7.1 H <br /> excluded.
