Mayor Gee asked people to drive safely and respect traffic rules including driving the <br /> speed limit, and stopping when this is warranted. He related a recent incident where a <br /> pedestrian was hit in the cross walk by a driver who did not stop at a stop sign. He <br /> asked the community to help make Redwood City a safer place. He congratulated Co- <br /> directors Nancy Radcliffe and Teresa Garcia for their recent event last Saturday <br /> evening to crown Miss Redwood City/San Mateo County 2014. He announced Miss <br /> Diana Noriega Weng as the new Miss Redwood City and he expects her to attend a <br /> future City Council meeting to introduce herself. <br /> Mayor Gee announced that Kat Lion, as part of his mayoral appointments, is <br /> being appointed to the Mosquito Abatement and Vector Control Board of <br /> Trustees representing Redwood City for a two-year term. He thanked all the <br /> applicants who applied and encouraged them to consider applying for other <br /> opportunities with Boards, Commissions, and Committees via a recruitment coming up <br /> soon. <br /> C. City Manager (Oral) Update <br /> Dr. Bell had no further updates. <br /> D. City Attorney Report from Closed Session <br /> Ms. Thompson said she had no reportable items to announce. <br /> 10. ADJOURN - Council Member Seybert adjourned the meeting in memory of <br /> Jac ueline Marie who recently passed away. She was the mother of former Mayor <br /> Ira and he ar d some fond memories.
