Proclamation - Recognizing March as American Red Cross Month - <br /> Clara Munley, American Red Cross, San Mateo County Leadership - <br /> Jeffrey Gee, Mayor <br /> Ms. Munley thanked the City Council and the community for recognizing <br /> March as Red Cross month in Redwood City. She elaborated on the various <br /> disasters this organization has responded to and provided details about <br /> statistics in Redwood City. She noted an upcoming event called Local <br /> Heroes and more information is available online at www.redcross.ora. <br /> B. Presentation - Midpeninsula Regional Open Space District -Vision Plan <br /> Update/Potential Bond Measure Information - Cecily Harris, President, <br /> Midpeninsula Regional Open Space District Board <br /> Ms. Cecily Harris provided a presentation on the process leading to the <br /> Bond Measure and thanked Council for this opportunity. Mayor Gee <br /> thanked Ms. Harris for the presentation. Steven Abbors, Executive Director <br /> of the Midpeninsula Regional Open Space District, was also present in the <br /> audience. <br /> C. Recognition of Maria Martinucci for her service on the Mosquito <br /> Abatement and Vector Control Board of Trustees for a term close to <br /> four years -JefFrey Gee, Mayor— Not present at the time. <br /> D. Swearing in of Incoming Member to the Mosquito Abatement and <br /> Vector Control Board Kat Lion - Silvia Vonderlinden, City Clerk <br /> Ms. Kat Lion was sworn in by City Clerk Vonderlinden to the seat of <br /> Member of the Board of Trustees to the San Mateo County Mosquito and <br /> Vector Control District. <br /> E. Introduction of newly crowned Miss Redwood City Diana Noriega- <br /> Weng - Nancy Radcliffe and Teresa Garcia, Co-Executive Directors of <br /> Miss Redwood San Mateo County Scholarship Pageant <br /> Ms. Radcliffe introduced Miss Redwood City, Diana Noriega-Weng, and <br /> recognized Mayor Gee and Council Member Pierce for their contributions <br /> towards a recent event at San Mateo College. Miss Noriega-Weng thanked <br /> the City Council for this opportunity and shared some of her experiences <br /> growing up in an environment where she was a minority as well as her <br /> educational aspirations.
