5. SPECIAL ORDER(S) OF THE DAY A. Proclamation - National Historic Preservation Month - Ken Rolandelli, Historic Resources Advisory Committee Chair -Jeffrey Gee, Mayor Mayor Gee presented the proclamation to Historic Resources Advisory Committee Chair Rolandelli. Mr. Rolandelli shared information on upcoming events regarding Historic Preservation month, which included walking tours on May 4th, the Union Cemetery tour on May 10th; he also recognized various public and private sponsors and participants. B. Recognition of Redwood City Businesses Evernote and Reputation.com Recipients of Innovators 2014 SAMCEDA Awards of Excellence - Ken Gullicksen, Chief Operations Officer of Evernote and Christopher Sundermeier, General Counsel and Chief Privacy Officer of Reputation.com -Jeffrey Gee, Mayor and Rosanne S. Foust, Vice Mayor Mayor Gee and Vice Mayor Foust recognized and welcomed each award recipient for their achievements and contributions to the community. Each recipient spoke sharing information about their respective companies, and expressed appreciation for being honored and for being in Redwood City. C. Presentation by Measure A Campaign Co-Chair Julia Horak and Alan Sarver, Sequoia Union High School District (SUHSD) Trustee and Bond Committee Representative, to request City Council consideration of a resolution in support of SUHSD Measure A Bond Mr. Salver presented information in favor of Measure A so that the school system can support the growth in population. He requested that City Council consider supporting this Measure A at a future meeting for their formal endorsement and said he would leave more information for the public at the back table. Mayor Gee directed that this item be placed on the May 12, 2014 City Council agenda under the Consent Calendar. 6. PUBLIC COMMENT Diana Reddy, representing Community Builder for Redwood City from the Housing Leadership Council, spoke about their organization and presented the latest calendar to the City Council. She also invited the community to a forum on housing on May 8, 2014. Mike Giari, Port Director, reported on their ribbon-cutting and opening of Wharves 1 and 2, last week at the Port. He noted that many public officials, including Mayor Gee and Congresswoman Speier, and other Council Members and City staff, joined them. He said their main message is that the Port of Redwood City is a modern port and they are planning and preparing for a long future in serving and supporting the economy of Silicon Valley.
