SPECIAL ORDER(S) OF THE DAY <br /> As a preamble to the Special Orders of the Day, Mayor Gee said that tonight it will be a lot <br /> of fun recognizing all kinds of partners that make things happen in Redwood City. He <br /> acknowledged that the Council could not make it alone and he values the fact that there <br /> are so many contributors. <br /> A. Recognition of Facebook and the Redwood City-San Mateo County <br /> Chamber of Commerce for their contributions to the Community - <br /> Susan Gonzales, Director of Community Engagement, Gino Gasparini, <br /> Chairman and Amy Buckmaster, President & CEO of the Redwood City- <br /> San Mateo County Chamber of Commerce -Jeffrey Gee, Mayor <br /> Mayor Gee invited Susan Gonzales, Amy Buckmaster and Gino Gasparini to the podium <br /> to be recognized for being great corporate and community partners. He thanked <br /> Facebook for the donations related to City events which totaled $50,000 and he <br /> appreciated the fact that the Redwood City— San Mateo County Chamber of Commerce <br /> made the introduction between the City and Facebook. He also recognized that the <br /> Zuckerman foundation is doing great things for our City through donations to the schools. <br /> Mayor Gee thanked Facebook and the Chamber of Commerce for creating a great <br /> community. Mayor Gee and the Council shared appreciation for such altruistic acts which <br /> benefit the whole community. <br /> Ms. Gonzalez said some words of thanks for all the introductions and for the great <br /> Council and Community. Ms. Buckmaster spoke about the Board of Directors she has <br /> and how the Chair and every member is engaged and they are about Community and <br /> Business working together. Mr. Gasparini thanked the City for being such a great partner <br /> with the Chamber. In closing, Mayor Gee said that it takes partners like these to make <br /> this a great community. <br /> B. Presentation - SamTrans Art Contest Winners (from Sandpiper <br /> Elementary School). The students are: Myles Hu, Emily Jiwon Hwang, <br /> and Jessica Liu -Jeffrey Gee, Mayor <br /> Mayor Gee invited the three students and respective families to be recognized by the City <br /> Council. He provided some context on the contest and how over 400 young artists <br /> submitted art entry. He congratulated Sandpiper Elementary School for being so well <br /> represented. Mayor Gee congratulated the artists presenting them with certificates of <br /> recognition and took some pictures with the young artists and families. <br /> C.
