The resource, 103 Wilson, has a similar level of protection as did the historic resources at 303
and 321 Fuller Streets. It is proposed to use the same mitigation for 103 Wilson as the Historic
Resources Advisory Committee (HRAC) approved for the Fuller Street resources. The
previously (HRAC) approved documentation approach comports with the methods used for
nominations to the National Register of Historic Places and is proportionate to the level of
significance of the resources as called for in the Downtown Precise Plan.
The specific recommendations to document 103 Wilson Street are as follows:
1 . The property will be documented (Mitigation Measure c.) with the following: digital
photographs will be taken of all exterior facades, interior rooms, and close-ups of any unusual or
significant architectural details. Photos will be stored on CDs. Simple floor plans of the house
will be drawn to scale. The historical narrative of the resource will be complied consisting of the
history of the immediate neighborhood, the buildings' construction and subsequent
modifications, the identity of the occupants, and any significant events associated with the
building. The historical narrative will use available DPR forms but will also be based on
additional archival research in order to build a complete but succinct history. The photographs,
drawings, and history will be complied in a report and sent to the California Historical Resources
Information System, the Bancroft Library, the Redwood City Public Library, San Mateo County
Historical Association, and the Redwood City Community Development Department.
2. The salvage measure (Mitigation Measure e.) does not appear to be feasible in this case. The
materials used in these wood houses, such as wood siding, shingles, and simple trim, are not
easily or meaningfully incorporated into the new building's construction.
3 . The interpretative exhibit measure (Mitigation Measure f.) can be achieved by the placement
of a plaque in the project on the exterior face of the new building. This plaque should be durable
and visible from the public right of way.
5
ATTY/RESO.3005/HRAC — 103 WILSON STREET AKA GREYSTAR Page 7 of 8
REV: 08-08-14 VR
