7. The thermal traffic sensor shall be based on Vanadium Oxide(VOx) microbolometer
detector technology, and shall not be susceptible to permanent damage after
imaging the sun.
8. The traffic sensor shall provide optics that automatically adjust to background
changes, and therefore does not require re-adjustment and/or thermal refocusing.
9. The traffic sensor shall not be susceptible to "image blooming" caused by bright
lights.
10.The traffic sensor shall be factory configured with an anti-reflection lens.
11.The thermal traffic sensor image sensor shall provide a Noise Equivalent
Temperature Difference(NETD) of<75mk, <50mK f/1.0 or lower.
12.The thermal traffic sensor shall include Auto Digital Detail Enhanoement (Auto DDE)
which is an advanced non-linear image processing algorithm. The Auto DDE
function is fully automatic and requires no input or adjustment from the user. The
Auto DDE shall enhance the image detail to match the total dynamic range of the
original image allowing details to be visible to the user even in scenes with low or
high thermal contrast. Auto DDE will increase the probability of detection of low
contrast images. These settings shall be optimized for pertormance.
13.The traffic sensor shall utilize Non-Uniformity Correction (NUC) which is a set of
compensation factors for each pixel. NUC shall enable the following features and
benefits:
• Eliminate the need for FPA(Focal Plane Array)temperature stabilization.
• Allow for near instantaneous sensor turn-on.
• Reduced system compleaty and power consumption.
• Allow for a wider operating temperature range.
14.The traffic sensor shall include Automatic Gain Control (AGC) circuitry to
compensate for scene variations, improve image quality by avoiding saturation and
distortion, and to balance signal levels prior to display to maximize image quality.
15.The traffic sensor shall feature a White-Hot operating mode. In the White-Hot mode
warmer objects will be displayed in white or lighter shades than cooler or background
areas.
16.The traffic sensor shall provide IP video stream.
17.The traffic sensor shall include a 10-year warranty on the detector mechanism.
18.The detection system shall support streaming video in MJPEG, MPEG-4 and H.264
format. The bit rate and frame rate of the video stream must be user-configurable.
19.To store the gathered count data, the detection module must have an on-board
memory of at least 2 weeks under the following configuration parameters: 2 detection
zones, differentiated counts for bicycles and vehicles, 5 minute integration intervals.
20.The video detection module is capable of operating at 24VAC/DC, provided to the
sensor via the interFace board. Its power consumption will not exceed 5W(or 210mA
at 24 during regular operations.
21.The total mass of the bracket, housing, camera and video detection module (excl.
cabling)shall be around 2.3 Ib.
SPECIAL CONDITIONS 00800-7
BREWSTER AVENUE/BROADWAY BICYCLE DETECTION PROJECT
