22.The interface board is used for system configuration, detection verification, detection
output generation and error output generation. It will be a card for NEMA TS-1 &
TS2 cabinets. It shall allow connection to up to 8 video detection modules and have
an Ethernet connection to communicate with a PC. The interFace board shall provide
4 contact closures (detection outputs) — 1 per video detection module—for the traffic
signal light controller.
23. If more than 4 detection outputs are necessary, one or more expansion boards, each
with 4 contact closures, will be available and connected to the interface.
24.Communication between the intertace board and the different cameras shall be
established over BPL (Broadband over Power Lines), limiting the number of wires
per camera to maximum 3 (BPL+, BPL-, Ground).
F. Regulatory Specifications:
1. The video detection module will be compatible with NEMA TS1 or TS2 Traffic
controller assemblies.
2. The video detection module will comply with FCC Title 47 Part 15 Subpart B.
3. The video detection module will comply with applicable CE directives.
• Electromagnetic Compatibility directive 2004/108/EG
• Safety—Low voltage directive 2006/95/EC
• Reduction ohazardous substances directive 2011/65/EU
G. Environmental Specifications:
1. The video detection module will be capable of operating befinreen-40°C and +74°C.
2. The video detection module will be UV resistant.
3. The video detection module will be mechanical protected according to IP67 and
I K07.
4. The video detection module will require a minimum of maintenance.
H. Functionalities:
Vehicle Presence detection, counting and zone occupanr measurement:
1. In one or more predefined virtual detection zones, the video detection software will
detect both moving and stopped vehicles on multiple lanes when mounted 13-40 ft
above the roadway surface, taking into account optical occlusion constraints.
2. System shall accommodate 24 virtual delection zones in the image. Logical functions
(AND, OR) shall be used to link multiple virtual detection zones to a single output.
Detection must be in any direction through the image and in more than 1 direction.
3. Vehicle count and zone occupancy data generation shall be possible.
Bike Presence detection and countirq:
1. In one or more predefined virtual detection zones, the video detection software will
detect both moving and stopped bicycles on multiple lanes when mounted 13-40 ft
above the roadway surface, taking into accourit optical occlusion constraints. The
software shall differentiate bikes from other vehicles.
2. System shall accommodate 4 virtual detection zones in the image.
3. Storage of bicycle count information shall be possible.
SPECIAL CONDITIONS 00800-8
BREWSTER AVENUE/BROADWAY BICYCLE DETECTION PROJECT
