7.1.A. - Page 3 <br /> AMENDMENT NO. 1 TO EXTEND THE AGREEMENT <br /> FOR SERVICE BETWEEN THE REDWOOD CITY SCHOOL DISTRICT, COUNTY OF <br /> SAN MATEO, AND CITY OF REDWOOD CITY <br /> (Redwood City Community Schools) <br /> This Amendment No.1 is entered into and effective as of the day of <br /> , 2014, amending the agreement dated July 1, 2013 (the <br /> "Agreement") by and between the City of Redwood City, a charter city and municipal <br /> corporation of the State of California ("City"), the County of San Mateo ("County"), and <br /> Redwood City School District ("RCSD" OR "District"). The City, County and District are <br /> collectively referred to as the "Parties" to this Agreement. The Agreement was entered <br /> into to provide funding to continue the Redwood City Community Schools ("Community <br /> Schools") program located at Taft, Fair Oaks, Hawes, Hoover, Kennedy, Garfield, and <br /> Hoover Schools, which are interagency school-based family resource centers providing <br /> human services, health services, educational support and community development <br /> activities. <br /> RECITALS <br /> A. On July 1, 2013, the City, County, and District executed an Agreement to <br /> provide funding for Community Schools program; and <br /> B. The Agreement states that the City's second year funding of the <br /> Community Schools will be negotiated and reflected in the form of an amendment to the <br /> Agreement; and <br /> C. The Parties have negotiated and agreed to extend the Agreement for a <br /> period of eleven (11) months ending on June 30, 2015 and for City to provide second <br /> year additional funding to the Community Schools. <br /> NOW, THEREFORE, in consideration of these recitals and the mutual covenants <br /> contained herein, the Parties agree as follows: <br /> 1. The Agreement, as may have been amended from time to time, is hereby <br /> extended for a period of 11 months ending on June 30, 2015; and City agrees to fund <br /> the Community Schools program by transferring to District the amount of One Hundred <br /> Thousand Dollars ($100,000.00) within sixty days of execution of this amendment. <br /> 2. All other provisions of the Agreement, as may have been amended from <br /> time to time, will remain in full force and effect. <br /> 3.
