Where voting machines are used at said General Municipal Election, said voting machines shall be arranged (1) so that any qualified elector may vote for the advisory ballot proposal by pulling down a lever adjacent to the word "YES" under or near a statement of the advisory ballot proposal appearing on the cardboard, paper or other material placed on the front of the machine, and said act shall constitute a vote for the proposal; and (2) so that any qualified elector may vote against the advisory ballot proposal by pulling down a lever adjacent to the word "NO" under or near said statement of the proposal so placed on the front of the machine, and said act shall constitute a vote against the proposal. Said voting machines and the preparation thereof shall comply in all respects with the requirements of law. (d) The returns of said election shall be made out and signed by the election officers and as _otherwise required by law and shall be deposited with the City Clerk; and this Council shall meet at its usual meeting place and canvass said returns at its regular meeting on Monday, the 17th day of April, 1978 (being the first Monday after said election) , at the hour of 7 : 30 p.m. , and declare the results of said General Municipal Election. SECTION 2. The advisory ballot proposal hereinabove ordered submitted to the electors of the City of Redwood City shall be submitted to said electors at the General Municipal Election to be held in the City on April 11, 1978, in the form of the proposal hereinafter set forth. On the ballots and on the voting machines to be used at said General Municipal Election, in addition to all other matters required by law to be printed thereon, shall appear the following: ADVISORY VOTE ONLY PROPOSITION AA: Should the Council of Redwood City repeal the real property conveyance tax enacted by Ordinance No. 1679 and reenact a documentary transfer tax as permitted under the Revenue and Taxation Code? -2-
