Where voting machines are used at said General Municipal Election, <br /> said voting machines shall be arranged (1) so that any qualified <br /> elector may vote for the advisory ballot proposal by pulling down <br /> a lever adjacent to the word "YES" under or near a statement of <br /> the advisory ballot proposal appearing on the cardboard, paper or <br /> other material placed on the front of the machine, and said act <br /> shall constitute a vote for the proposal; and (2) so that any <br /> qualified elector may vote against the advisory ballot proposal <br /> by pulling down a lever adjacent to the word "NO" under or near said <br /> statement of the proposal so placed on the front of the machine, <br /> and said act shall constitute a vote against the proposal. Said <br /> voting machines and the preparation thereof shall comply in all <br /> respects with the requirements of law. <br /> (d) The returns of said election shall be made out and signed <br /> by the election officers and as _otherwise required by law and shall <br /> be deposited with the City Clerk; and this Council shall meet at its <br /> usual meeting place and canvass said returns at its regular meeting <br /> on Monday, the 17th day of April, 1978 (being the first Monday after <br /> said election) , at the hour of 7 : 30 p.m. , and declare the results <br /> of said General Municipal Election. <br /> SECTION 2. The advisory ballot proposal hereinabove ordered <br /> submitted to the electors of the City of Redwood City shall be <br /> submitted to said electors at the General Municipal Election to be <br /> held in the City on April 11, 1978, in the form of the proposal <br /> hereinafter set forth. On the ballots and on the voting machines <br /> to be used at said General Municipal Election, in addition to all <br /> other matters required by law to be printed thereon, shall appear <br /> the following: <br /> ADVISORY VOTE ONLY <br /> PROPOSITION AA: Should the Council of Redwood City repeal <br /> the real property conveyance tax enacted <br /> by Ordinance No. 1679 and reenact a documentary transfer <br /> tax as permitted under the Revenue and Taxation Code? <br /> -2- <br />
