• <br /> C <br /> Said original or record copy, with such •certificate;and <br /> proof of publication shall be prima facie evidence of the contents <br /> of such ordinance and of the passage thereof and of publication <br /> thereef pertaining thereto. and-et-the-passage-and-pubiieatten <br /> theree€- The clerk shall also keep an index to the minutes of <br /> the council and to said-erdinenee-beek- all ordinances. <br /> • <br /> The city clerk shall be the custodian of the city seal., <br /> and shall affix the same to all official certificates made by <br /> it said clerk, and to all papers when directed by the council <br /> to attest to execute the same. <br /> He The clerk shall have power to administer oaths and <br /> affirmations, to take affidavits, and to certify the same . <br /> He The clerk shall have such other powers and perform such <br /> other duties as may be provided by this charter or by statute <br /> or by ordinance or order of the city manager. " <br /> (b) Said Charter amendment proposal shall be submitted to the <br /> electors of the City of Redwood City at the General Municipal Election <br /> to be held in the City on April 11, 1978, in the form of a proposal <br /> to amend said Charter by amending Section 32 thereof. On the ballots <br /> and on the voting machines to be used at said election, in addition <br /> to all other matters required by law to be printed thereon, shall <br /> appear the following: <br /> PROPOSITION F. Shall Section 32 of the Charter of the <br /> City of Redwood City be amended to provide <br /> that the City Clerk shall keep the originals or certified <br /> copies of all ordinances rather than an ordinance book? <br /> SECTION 9. (a) The Council of Redwood City hereby proposes, <br /> on its own motion, to amend the Charter of the City of Redwood City <br /> by amending Section 34 thereof to read as follows: <br /> "SECTION 34. CITY TREASURER: <br /> "There shall be a city treasurer, who shall be appointed <br /> by the city council. It shall be hie the treasurer ' s duty <br /> to receive and safely keep all moneys and securities belonging <br /> to the city and coming into his said treasurer ' s hands , and to <br /> pay out the same only on warrants signed by the proper <br /> officers, except the principal and interest due on bonds of <br /> the city, including improvement bonds thereof. <br /> The treasurer shall deposit, with a-respersibie-berikirig <br /> institution;-te-be-designated-Icy-the-eity-eeeneil , such <br /> depositories as are provided by law all funds coming into <br /> his said treasurer' s possession, and shall obtain from such <br /> banieing-institution;-bends-er-ether depositories • <br /> collateral as security therefor, as provided by law. All <br /> interest on money so deposited shall accrue to the benefit <br /> of the City. <br /> -11- <br />
