REDWOOD CITY PARKS & RECREATION COMMISSION MEETING OF JANUARY 12 , 1977 The regular meeting of the Parks and Recreation Commission was called to order by Chairperson Pound at 7 : 34 p . m . in Conference Room 1 of the Community Activities Building , 1400 Roosevelt Avenue , Redwood City . MEMBERS PRESENT : Commissioners Anderson , Buckhout , Hayes , Pound , Schlesinger , Weintraub MEfJERS ABSENT : Commissioner Knecht STAFF PRESENT : Director Max C . Weeks Superintendent Pasco Balzarini Superintendent Bill Paulson Administrative Assistant Tom Ferrando Recreation Leader Robert Heavey GAP STUDENTS : Ginny Mayhew , Glenda Aslund , Gerald Montgomery , Jr . Bill Doherty , Jon Parsons , Judy Munoz , Sheila Froedge , Suzanne Smith , Kevin Mattson , Tracy Stump MOTION : Commissioner Weintraub moved to accept the minutes of the December 8 , 1976 , Regular Business Meeting , seconded by Commissioner Anderson . The motion carried unanimously by voice vote . Chairperson Pound welcomed newly appointed Commissioner Hayes . CORRESPONDENCE Commissioner Pound inquired as to whether the Park Maintenance Magazine which the Commission received was a publication of the California Parks and Recreation Society . Mr . Weeks indicated that it is not affiliated with CPRS and that the Commission received courtesy copies for which there is no charge . With regards to an additional page of the Street Tree Masterplan , which each Commissioner received , Mr . Weeks stated that the Masterplan had not yet been before Council . He indicated that a problem had arisen with respect to the Public Works data which was collected in the Street Tree Survey and that attempts were being made to resolve the problem which existed between the Public Works Department and the Consultant . He further stated that once the problem was alleviated , the Masterplan would be presented to the City Council . - 1 -
