Chairperson Pound called attention to a two- part article which she had <br /> recently prepared for the Redwood Shores Pilot . The article dealt with <br /> Ms . Pound ' s attendance at the California League of Cities Conference in <br /> her capacity as Park and Recreation Commissioner . <br /> Mr . Weeks introduced Mr . Robert Heavey to the Commission and explained <br /> that Mr . Heavey is part of the staff of the Red Morton Recreation Center <br /> and that additionally , he is involved in the McKinley Junior High noon - time <br /> program and is very active in handling many of the teen activities which <br /> are generated out of the Center . <br /> AGENDA ITEM 1 . Discussion of Commission and Committee Objectives <br /> Chairperson Pound reminded the Commission that during the recent Committee <br /> assignments , Commissioner Hayes had been placed on the Redwood Shores Com- <br /> mittee prior to her appointment . This resulted in two Redwood Shores resi - <br /> dents serving on that Committee , a situation which the Commission had earlier <br /> determined to be inappropriate . Commissioner Hayes indicated that she had <br /> an interest in the Porgram Committee and would be agreeable to switching <br /> assignments with someone on that Committee . Considerable discussion ensued <br /> regarding the matter of Committee assignments . At its conclusion , Chair- <br /> person Pound appointed Commissioner Hayes to the Operational Policy and <br /> the Program Committees and removed her from the Redwood Shores and the <br /> Design and Development Committees . Additionally , Chairperson Pound shifted <br /> Commissioner Knecht from the Program to the Redwood Shores Committee and <br /> moved Commissioner Buckhout from the Operational Policy to the Design and <br /> Development Committee . <br /> Commissioner Schlesinger stated that the Commission Committee assignments <br /> as outlined in the December minutes indicated that Commissioner Knecht <br /> was not a Chairman of any Committee . Commissioner Weintraub stated that <br /> she thought Commissioner Knecht was Chairman of the Open Space Committee <br /> and that an error might have been made preparing the minutes . For the <br /> record , Chairperson Pound reaffirmed the appointment of Commissioner <br /> Knecht as Chairman of the Open Space Committee . <br /> After additional discussion , the following Committee assignments were <br /> confirmed : <br /> - 2 - <br />
