Budget , Capital Improvement and Legislative Committee Report
( continued )
some revenue sharing funds and capital improvement funds could result
in a viable five year Capital Improvement Program . It was suggested
that this program be put together with the intention of utilizing these
funding sources .
It was pointed out to the Committee that with the constraints now being
placed - upon the utilization of water , resultant from the drought con-
ditions , it would be prudent to give greatest priority to those types
of projects which would not require the opening of new areas or to those
which required extensive planting to be usable . Projects to further
improve existing facilities such as upgrading parking facilities , field
and court lighting , picnic facilities , improvement of apparatus areas ,
additional tennis courts , building improvements , etc . , should be given
priority consideration at least for the next few years .
The staff indicated various options for the five year Capital Improve-
ment Program will be prepared for further consideration by the Committee
as the planning process for the budget for 1977 -78 progresses .
- 11 -
