REDWOOD CITY PARKS & RECREATION COMMISSION MEETING OF FEBRUARY 9 , 1977 The regular meeting of the Parks and Recreation Commission was called to order by Chairperson Pound at 7 : 35 p . n . , in Conference Room 1 of the Community Activities Building , 1400 Roosevelt Avenue , Redwood City . MEMBERS PRESENT : Commissioners Anderson , Buckhout , Hayes , Knecht , Pound , Weintraub MEMBERS ABSENT : Commissioner Schlesinger ( Arrived at 8 : 03 p . m . ) STAFF PRESENT : Director Max Weeks Superintendent Bill Paulson Administrative Assistant Tom Ferrando CITIZENS PRESENT : Ann Anderson , 815 Canyon Road , Redwood City Ida Moore , 1286 Fernside ; Redwood City Singles Gladys Johnson , 2618 Brester ; Redwood City Singles Evelyn Powell , 223 Hillview ; TOPS MOTION : Commissioner Weintraub moved to accept the minutes of the January 12 , 1977 , Regular Business Meeting , seconded by Commissioner Anderson . The motion carried unanimously by voice vote . CORRESPONDENCE Mr . Weeks indicated that he had received a letter from California Parks and Recreation Socity requesting the return of membership cards from the retired members of the Commission . He indicated that he would follow up on the matter . Chairperson Pound indicated that she had received a letter from Park Maintenance Magazine asking for verification of membership on the Com- mission and subscription information for the magazine . The Commission had indicated in an earlier meeting that they did not wish to pay for this magazine . Mr . Weeks indicated that he would also handle this inquiry . Mr . Weeks read an invitation from the Native Daughters of the Golden West concerning their Annual Arbor Day Observance on Sunday , February 27 , at 2 : 00 p . m . , at the Casa de Redwood , 1280 Veterans Blvd . He indi - cated that Bernie Nielson would be honored during the day ' s activities .
