i <br /> PARKS & RECREATION COMMISSION <br /> MINUTES OF APRIL 13 , 1977 <br /> The regular meeting of the Parks & Recreation Commission was called to <br /> order by Chairperson Pound at 7 : 37 p . m . , in Conference Room 1 of the <br /> Community Activities Building , 1400 Roosevelt Avenue , Redwood City . <br /> MEMBERS PRESENT : Commissioners Anderson , Buckhout , Hayes , <br /> Knecht , Pound , Schlesinger , Weintraub <br /> MEMBERS ABSENT : None <br /> STAFF PRESENT : Director Max C . Weeks <br /> Park Superintendent Balzarini <br /> Recreation Superintendent Paulson <br /> Administrative Assistant Ferrando <br /> Recreation Center Supervisor Mary Kucala <br /> CITIZENS PRESENT : Paul D . Wirthlin <br /> Allan Weintraub <br /> Steve Weintraub <br /> MOTION : Commissioner Schlesinger moved to accept the <br /> minutes of the March 9 , 1977 , Regular Business <br /> Meeting , seconded by Commissioner Hayes . The <br /> motion carried unanimously by voice vote . <br /> CORRESPONDENCE <br /> Chairperson Pound indicated that the Bay Area Park and Recreation Commis - <br /> sioners Council Quarterly Meeting would be held Friday , April 22 , at the <br /> Senior Center Botany Grounds in Hayward . The subject of the meeting will <br /> be Hayward Shoreline Story . <br /> She also indicated that the next training session of the California Asso- <br /> ciation Parks & Recreation Commissioners will be on June 4 in San Rafael . <br /> She hoped the new Commissioners , Anderson and Hayes , would be able to <br /> attend the session . <br /> AGENDA ITEM 2 . Review of Department Programs for the Disabled <br /> ( Moved forward on the agenda ) <br /> Mary Kucala , Recreation Center Supervisor , was given the courtesy of <br /> appearing first on the agenda . Ms . Kucala . gave a brief history of the <br /> special needs program which started in 1971 and a schedule for the pro - <br /> gram was distributed .
