• <br /> PARKS & RECREATION COMMISSION <br /> MINUTES OF MAY 11 , 1977 <br /> The regular meeting of the Parks & Recreation Commission was called to <br /> order by Chairperson Pound at 7 : 47 p . m . , in Conference Room 1 of the <br /> Community Activities Building , 1400 Roosevelt Avenue , Redwood City . <br /> MEMBERS PRESENT : Commissioners Anderson , Hayes , Pound , Schlesinger , <br /> Weintraub <br /> MEMBERS ABSENT : Commissioners Buckhout and Knecht ( Commissioner <br /> Knecht arrived at 8 : 20 p . m . ) <br /> STAFF PRESENT : Director Max C . Weeks <br /> Recreation Superintendent Paulson <br /> MOTION : Commissioner Weintraub moved to accept the minutes <br /> of the April 13 , 1977 , Regular Business Meeting , <br /> seconded by Commissioner Schlesinger . The motion <br /> carried unanimously by voice vote . <br /> CORRESPONDENCE <br /> The Commissioners received copies of the Redwood City Comprehensive <br /> General Plan with a questionnaire to be completed and returned . Mr . <br /> Weeks felt it would be beneficial to the Planning Department if the <br /> Commissioners would fill out the questionnaire and return it to the <br /> Planning Department . <br /> The Commissioners also received the Proposed Budget for FY 77 - 78 for <br /> Redwood City . Mr . Weeks indicated that the first review of the budget <br /> had been completed and another four sessions were scheduled before the <br /> approval date . <br /> AGENDA ITEM 1 . Park Naming Request from Mr . James DeBenedetti <br /> Mr . Weeks gave a background of the DeBenedetti request to name the land - <br /> scaped area at Duane and Hopkins - Dingee Park Circle - in memory of <br /> Mr . William J . Dingee , former owner of the area . <br /> It was pointed out to the Commission that apparently Mr . Dingee owned <br /> several hundred acres of land around this area . When the area was sub - <br /> divided and sold , the circle at Duane and Hopkins was created as part <br /> - 1 - <br />
