Even though it was agreed that Mr . & Mrs . Dingee ' s service <br /> to the community had undoubtedly been exemplary , they felt that the <br /> criteria as established in the Park Naming Policy was not sufficiently <br /> met to warrant the naming of this cirlce after the Dingee ' s . <br /> MOTION : Commissioner Weintraub moved , seconded by Com- <br /> missioner Schlesinger , that the circle at Duane <br /> and Hopkins not be named Dingee Park Circle <br /> because it did not meet the basic criteria of <br /> the Park Naming Policy . The motion carried <br /> unanimously by voice vote . <br /> AGENDA ITEM 2 . Discussion of Bingo Ordinance and Use of Recreation <br /> Building <br /> This agenda item will be carried over to the June Commission meeting . <br /> The subject data will be discussed by the Policy Committee prior to <br /> the next Commission meeting . <br /> AGENDA ITEM 4 . Review of Summer Activities <br /> Recreation Superintendent , Mr . Paulson , reviewed the 12 - page Summer <br /> Schedule . He highlighted the following items in the brochure : the <br /> Supervised Playgrounds which this year includes a new site - Canyon <br /> Park ; the Sequoia Drop- In Program held four nights a week for recrea - <br /> tional use ; the Wilderness Camp , Day Camp , and Sports Camp programs <br /> for children ; Canada College band concerts during the month of July <br /> with the July 4th concert at Canada College preceeding the downtown <br /> fireworks display ; and the Red Morton Center teen activities . Mr . <br /> Paulson also went over class listings , swimming and tennis lessons <br /> and recreational swim being held at both pools throughout the summer . <br /> AGENDA ITEM 3 . Election of Officers <br /> Commissioner Knecht nominated Commissioner Schlesinger for the office <br /> of Chairman . <br /> MOTION : Commissioner Weintraub moved that the nomina - <br /> tions be closed and that Commissioner Schlesinger <br /> be elected by unanimous vote , seconded by Commis - <br /> sioner Anderson . Motion carried by unanimous <br /> voice vote . <br /> - 2 - <br />
