M + • <br /> t <br /> RECREATION DIVISION MONTHLY REPORT <br /> JUNE 1977 <br /> MUNICIPAL AQUATICS & SPORTS <br /> Aquatics <br /> During the month of June , the Parks and Recreation Department opened <br /> Hoover and Community Pools to the public for recreation swimming as <br /> well as for lessons . <br /> The aquatics staff completed a four-day Water Safety Instructor Review <br /> Course taught by Mr. Pete Newton , local Red Cross Water Safety Instruc - <br /> tor . In addition , the staff took a nine hour Cardio- Pulmonary Resuscita- <br /> tion course . <br /> Hoover pool is open seven days a week for recreation swim and Community <br /> Pool is open six days a week . In addition , Sequoia High School Pool is <br /> open Tuesday through Thursday for evening swimming . <br /> Youth Softball <br /> The Peppermint Patty Girls Teen League and the newly formed Boys Youth <br /> Softball League for boys 8-12 years were organized and league play began <br /> during the month of June . There are nine Peppermint Patty League teams , <br /> five Girls Teen League teams and four Boys Youth League teams . League <br /> games are played Monday through Friday starting at 5 : 15 p . m . <br /> - 10- <br />
