PARKS & RECREATION DEPARTMENT MONTHLY REPORT <br /> DESIGN & DEVELOPMENT <br /> NOVEMBER 1977 <br /> Red Morton Park <br /> The applications for state funding for the Phase IV development of Red <br /> Morton Park continue to be reviewed by the State Liason Officer assigned <br /> to work with the City . An on - sight inspection was completed by the <br /> Liason Officer and the staff relative to the request for the funding <br /> for Phase IV . At this time there appears to be no problem with res - <br /> pect to the State ' s approval of the application . <br /> Contract negotiations with the firm of Singer & Hodges for the prep- <br /> aration for the plans and specifications for a portion of the Phase IV <br /> work have been completed and the contract is now in the process of <br /> being prepared for final approval and execution . <br /> Canyon Park <br /> The State Liason Officer together with the staff completed an on -sight <br /> inspection of the proposed Canyon Park development in relation to the <br /> application for state funds for this work . The application is still <br /> being reviewed and there appears to be no problem with respect to <br /> the State ' s approval for the funding . <br /> Palm Park <br /> The application for state funds to complete the development of Palm <br /> Park which are being supplied through the Urban , Open Space and Recrea- <br /> tion Program of the State ( SB174 ) has been approved . The project <br /> agreement has been fully executed and a request for 90% of the grant <br /> amount is being prepared for the advancement of funds for this work . <br /> Upon receipt of these funds , request for bids for the work will be <br /> initiated . <br /> Fleishman Park and Spinas Park <br /> The applications for state grant funds for the initial improvement <br /> of these parks continues to be reviewed by the State . The State Liason <br /> Officer together with the staff completed the on -sight inspection of <br /> these projects . In that these projects are in competition with other <br /> projects throughout the area , as part of the Needs Grant Program , a <br /> considerable amount of time is needed for the review process . It is <br /> hoped that a decision relative to our applications will be rendered <br /> shortly after the first of the new year . <br /> - 5- <br />
