RECREATION DIVISION MONTHLY REPORT <br /> DECEMBER 1977 <br /> CENTER OPERATIONS AND SPECIAL INTERESTS <br /> Community Activities Building, <br /> The Sequoia Stamp Club held its Annual Stamp Show at the Community <br /> Activities Building on December 3 and 4 , with a good crowd attending . <br /> The usual round of Christmas parties were held at the building by <br /> many of the co- sponsored clubs along with several receptions . The <br /> building was closed on the two holiday weekends . <br /> Veterans Memorial Building <br /> The Senior Forum Christmas Party was held at the Veterans Building on <br /> December 9 , with other 400 attending representing 55 San Mateo County <br /> Senior Clubs . The A . A . R . P . Annual Christmas luncheon was held on <br /> December 14 , at the Elks and on December 20 the Fun After Fifty Club <br /> had their Christmas luncheon also at the Elks with 325 participants . <br /> On December 16 , the Redwood City Parks & Recreation Department co-hosted <br /> with P . A . R . C . A . and San Carlos Parks & Recreation Department a dance <br /> for mentally retarded and physically handicapped teens and adults . Over <br /> 75 attended while the Fun After Fifty club provided music and refreshments . <br /> Redwood City Community Theater presented " Hansel and Gretel " on December <br /> 9 , 10 , 11 , 16 and 17 . In addition , many Christmas parties were scheduled . <br /> Red Morton Recreation Center <br /> On Wednesday evening , December 7 and 14 from 7 : 00 p . m . to 8 : 30 p . m . a <br /> Christmas workshop was held for Junior High teens . Crafts were taught <br /> by recreation leaders . Dough ornaments , God ' s eyes and tree ornaments <br /> were made so teens could take home or give to friends . <br /> On December 14 , from 3 : 30 p . m . to 5 : 00 p . m . the Red Morton Staff put <br /> on a Christmas Craft Workshop for Hoover staff members . Egg ornaments , <br /> God ' s eyes , dough crafts , ornaments and many other crafts were taught . <br /> On December 15 , the 3rd Annual Volunteer Christmas Party was held at <br /> Pizza & Pipes . The party was to repay the volunteers for their generous <br /> giving of themselves and all their helpfulness to the Red Morton Center <br /> and the Parks & Recreation Department . Last year the Center had over <br /> fifty teen volunteers who contributed thousands of hours . <br /> -7- <br />
