Veterans Memorial Building ( cont . ) <br /> Five programs in the special needs area are now in progress . They are : <br /> 1 . DYSPHASIC CHILDREN - A general recreation program held at Red <br /> Morton Recreation Center on Thursdays from 9 a . m . to 11 a . m . <br /> 2 . SPECIAL ED CHILDREN - A specialized program in perceptual skills <br /> and low-organized games for mentally retarded and physically <br /> handicapped youngsters ages 6 and 7 . Meets at Roosevelt School <br /> on Tuesdays and Thursdays from noon to 1 : 15 p . m . <br /> 3 . TMR CHILDREN - A general recreation program in low organized <br /> sports and games , crafts , cooking and outings for trainable <br /> mentally retarded children in Redwood City . They meet at the <br /> Vets Building from 10 a . m . to 1 p . m , on Saturdays . <br /> 4 . PHYSICALLY HANDICAPPED PROGRAM - This is a bowling program for <br /> approximately 35 physically handicapped young adults who bowl <br /> every Saturday at Mel ' s Bowl from 12 noon to 3 p . m . <br /> 5 . P . A . R . C . A . PROGRAM ( Peninsula Association for Retarded Children <br /> and Adults ) - Redwood City is hosting a dance in December for <br /> these retarded teens and young adults at the Veterans Building . <br /> The Senior Citizens and some service groups will donate cupcakes <br /> and cookies . <br /> -9- <br />
