Verde Design Inc. was the only qualified firm to <br /> submit a proposal. <br /> Verde Design, Inc. and their team have significant experience with park and athletic <br /> facility planning and design. The firm and their sub - consultant team also have <br /> extensive experience in the public outreach and construction mitigation process which <br /> will be crucial for the success of this project. <br /> ALTERNATIVES <br /> Council may choose not to approve the design services agreement with Verde Design <br /> Inc., and direct staff to reissue another RFQ /P. <br /> FISCAL IMPACT <br /> Funding proposed in the City of Redwood City Recommended Budget 2014 -2015 <br /> Capital Improvement Projects, page CIP -2, Capital Outlay Fund, Parks, Play Fields and <br /> Public Spaces; Red Morton Synthetic turf replacement $2.4M, Tennis Court and field <br /> light replacement $360,000. There is an additional $275,000 from the Park Impact Fee <br /> Fund if determined through the CEQA process that lights may be added to 49er -Guida <br /> Field. <br /> ENVIRONMENTAL REVIEW <br /> This action is not a "project" within the meaning of the California Environmental Quality <br /> Act because the activity involves the retention of a consultant to create potential plans <br /> which does not create a commitment to a specific project which may result in a direct <br /> physical change in the environment nor a reasonably foreseeable indirect physical <br /> change in the environment.
