Achieving consensus on housing policy and <br /> proposed housing developments can be a difficult process. <br /> Through active and continued dialogue with stakeholders and <br /> neighborhood groups, the likelihood of achieving neighborhood <br /> consensus for new developments is increased significantly. <br /> Redwood City supports efforts to help residents be more <br /> informed about housing facts, which will help them provide <br /> sound direction on housing solutions. Redwood City's Housing <br /> and Human Concerns Committee has an Ad Hoc Committee that <br /> can help facilitate this outreach plan. Efforts will include <br /> exploring avenues to help residents understand development <br /> tradeoffs, the benefits of affordable housing, and measures <br /> necessary to implement Redwood City's vision for a vibrant and <br /> lively community. <br /> Objectives: <br /> • Partner with housing advocates to provide information to <br /> the community on housing density and affordable housing. <br /> Reach out to the community regarding these topics in <br /> general, as well as with regard to specific new <br /> developments. <br /> • Complete an annual report of Housing Element progress. <br /> Notify and invite interested community members to attend <br /> and discuss housing production progress at a public hearing. <br /> Timeframe: Ongoing <br /> Responsible Party: Community Development <br /> Funding Sources: General Fund <br /> Redwood City General Plan <br />
