No impact will occur. <br /> g) Less than Significant Impact. The proposed Housing Element will not change or interfere with the emergency <br /> response plans of the City, and the project components do not propose any alteration to vehicle circulation routes <br /> that could interfere with such plans. In accordance with City policies, the City will review all development proposals <br /> to determine the possible impacts of each development on emergency services. Impacts will be less than <br /> significant. <br /> h) Less than Significant Impact. Portions of Redwood City are within moderate to very high risk zones for wildland <br /> fires. Potential new development and /or redevelopment in these areas may increase the risk of exposure of <br /> structures and individuals to wildland fires. Compliance with existing State and local fire regulations, including <br /> vegetation management plans required by the state and weed abatement requirements set forth by the City, help <br /> to reduce potential impacts from wildland fires. <br /> Portions of western Redwood City are located within a Very High Fire Hazard Severity Zone (VFHSZ), as <br /> documented on the latest maps prepared by the California Department of Forestry and Fire Protection. <br /> Opportunity Sites located along the western boundary of the City are located within the Very High Fire Hazard <br /> Severity Zone (VHFHSZ). Construction of residences within Very High FHSZs will be required to comply with <br /> California Building Code requirements for fire protection in areas prone to wildfires, in particular Section 701A that <br /> will require construction with fire resistant materials and methods to minimize property damage. Fire protection <br /> services will also continue to be provided for residences in the City and is further discussed in Section 4.14. With <br /> the implementation of existing General Plan Policies, building code requirements and adequate fire protection <br /> services, impacts from wildfire on future development pursuant to the policies of the Housing Element will be less <br /> than significant. <br /> Applicable General Plan Public Safety Element Policies and Programs <br /> Policy 9.2 Identify alternative water sources for fire - fighting use during a disaster. <br /> Program PS -32 Emergency Operations Plan. Review and update, as needed, the City's emergency <br /> operations plan in coordination with the County's natural disaster preparedness plan to <br /> address disasters such as earthquakes, flooding, dam or levee failure, hazardous materials <br /> spills, epidemics, fires, extreme weather, major transportation accidents, and terrorism. <br /> Program PS -33 Emergency Vehicle Access and Secure Evacuation Routes.
