She stated that the <br /> exclusion of rent stabilization was a big disappointment. She noted that she is <br /> concerned about relocation and that there are no specific plans for funds and <br /> procedure to ensure that people are not evicted unjustly. <br /> Colt Rymer, Redwood City Housing Committee, thanked the Commission for <br /> including veteran's housing in the document. <br /> Joshua Hugg, Housing Leadership Council, stated that the City has been <br /> responsive on most issues. He stated that the Housing Element is about <br /> continuing growth, and what is lacking is addressing concerns of existing <br /> renters. He stated that there is an issue with the cost of housing right now that <br /> needs to be addressed. He stated that current planning processes are going to <br /> exacerbate these issues. <br /> M/S (Borgens/White) to close the Public Hearing <br /> COMMISSIONER COMMENTS <br /> Commissioner Borgens stated that she liked how easy this document was to <br /> read. She agreed with the speaker that the document does not address <br /> immediate needs but it identifies that the issue exists.
