8.A. - Page 135 <br /> stated that the more the City hears from these organizations, the better the City <br /> can engage with them. <br /> Chair Holt asked if Staff could talk about the timeline of the Nexus Study. <br /> Ms. O'Dell stated that 12 jurisdictions have pooled their resources to hire a <br /> consultant to prepare a Nexus Study which looks at the relationship of new <br /> construction with producing the need for affordable housing. She stated that <br /> the project was started four months ago and the cities are reviewing their <br /> information currently. She stated that a sample of these reports should be <br /> available by the end of this year, with final reports out in March or April of 2015. <br /> Chair Holt asked if it is possible that, depending on the result of the Nexus <br /> Study, that City Council could give further direction on the Housing Element. <br /> Ms. O'Dell stated that the Study is a first step towards those discussions. <br /> Commissioner White noted Policy H1.5 that speaks to affordability. He thanked those who responded to the request <br /> for a special meeting on October 14 111 <br /> Ms. O'Dell noted that the Housing Element is scheduled to go to City Council on <br /> October 20 for a final decision. <br /> Commissioner Borgens asked if there is still an opportunity for people to make <br /> comments to the City Council. <br /> Ms. O'Dell replied yes. She also noted there is public news that Crossing /900 has <br /> been leased to Box, a Cloud storage company. <br /> Commissioner Radcliffe asked if they would be in the ground floor. <br /> Ms. O'Dell replied that there is a restaurant space there that has not yet been leased. <br /> Page 4 of 5 <br />
