b. Discuss any potential funding shortfalls or risks associated with any of the listed
funding sources, and how they will be addressed.
There are no risks with the listed funding sources. The TDA Article 3 Grant has
been awarded; the City is working with CCAG on the allocation and funding
agreement. The City has identified adequate funding to cover the city match.
c. Can the project be divided into phases or segments if full funding is not
available?
Yes No ❑
If"Yes", describe the different phases/segments and costs associated with each.
The project could be divided into phases and/or segments in a number of
different ways due to the scalability of the project.
Phased approach (corresponding Measure A request):
• PS&E - $131,000
• Construction - $845,780
Segmented approach (corresponding Measure A request):
• Low-cost items (all but curb extensions)
o PS&E - $31,800
o Construction - $101,780
• Curb Extensions only
o PS8E - $99,200
o Construction - $654,000
Although the budget could also be broken down by school, the city is concerned
about the equity issues that would be raised by this approach. Given the strong
school interest in implementing improvements quickly, the City is hopeful that the
approved funding include budget for some component of construction.
VI. SUSTAINABILITY
a. What are the environmental benefits of the project(e.g. reduces emissions and
improves air quality, utilizes low environmental impact/green development
practices)?
When implemented, the project will encourage more families to choose active
modes of transportation to get to and from school—thereby reducing emissions
and improving air quality. Curb extensions also offer the opportunity to reduce
runoff into the storm drain system (and corresponding surface pollution flowing to
the bay)with the installation of landscaping.
b. Does the project improve links or facilities between Transit Oriented
Development (TOD) and transit stations/other high-use activity centers? How
does it contribute toward the creation of livable, walkable, and healthy
communities?
REV:09-04-14 VR 2(
ATTY/AGR/2014.160/SAN MATEO COUNTY TRANSPORTATION AUTHORITY
