Annual Action Plan to the Consolidated Plan for FY 2004-2005 <br /> City Manager Everett excused himself as he serves on the Board of Shelter <br /> Network. <br /> Housing Coordinator ,Jones-Thomas stated that in the year 2000, the City adopted <br /> a five-year consolidated plan, and each year thereafter, the City updates its <br /> Annual Action Plan to reflect the use of the funds received in that year. She <br /> explained the Citizens Participation Process and introduced J.P. Garcia, <br /> Chairperson of the Housing and Human Concerns Committee (HHCC). <br /> Chairperson Garcia explained the methodology applied to the deliberation process <br /> in recommending funding for the various programs. <br /> Council asked questions that included the reasoning behind why some agencies <br /> that were funded in the past are not this year and why more HOME applications <br /> were not received. <br /> Mayor Ira opened the public hearing. <br /> Public Comment: <br /> Louise Della Maggiora, Board Member of HIP Housing thanked Council for the <br /> support of the self sufficiency program and the home sharing program. She stated <br /> that last year, 57 self-sufficiency families benefited from the housing and <br /> supportive services with 33% of those being Redwood City residents. Through <br /> this program, 19 Redwood City families completed their educational and <br /> vocational training which allowed them to have stable permanent housing and <br /> obtain full time permanent employment.
