� <br /> ,�, ,,,., <br /> �✓ �_ <br /> RECREATION DIVISION MONTHLY REPORT <br /> SEPTEMBER 1978 <br /> SPORTS & AQUATICS <br /> Adult Basketball - Plans are underway for forming the Adult Basketball <br /> League. Forty-two (42) mens teams and four (4) womens teams are anti- <br /> cipated to be in the league. Registrations are underway and practice <br /> assignments will start October lOth. <br /> Swimming Pools - The sumner swim program ended Labor Day weekend. The <br /> swim instruction program had 1 ,652 participants register for lessons. <br /> Presently, Comnunity Pool is operating with the minimum water quality <br /> standards as the pool is not open to the public. Woover Pool is closed <br /> down for repairs. A pump as well as the chlorinator had to be rebuilt. <br /> Hoover will be ready for school useage in mid-October. <br /> Softball - The Co-Ed Softball League was formed during the month of <br /> September. Twenty-three teams joined forming three different leagues. <br /> Games are played on Sunday afternoons and evenings using Hawes and <br /> Bechet fields. <br /> Soccer - Soccer season started league play during September. An organi- <br /> zational meeting has been held with all of the soccer organizations that <br /> use our facilities. Fields have been allocated to all of the groups for <br /> their league games. The breakdown of the organizations is as follows: <br /> A.Y.S.O. has 49 youth teams; C.Y.S.A. has 6 youth teams; Redwood City <br /> Soccer Club has 3 youth teams; Juventis, Hildago, Anahac, Alianza, and <br /> Los Aguilas all have 1 adult team. <br /> �7., <br />
