C r "s'"'� �""�* <br /> �w+` � <br /> PARKS & RECREATION COMMISSION <br /> MINUTES OF OCTOBER 18, 1978 <br /> The regular meeting of the Parks & Recreation Commission was called to <br /> order by Vice-Chairman Castle at 7:46 p.m. , in the Conference Room of <br /> the Corranunity Activities Building, 1400 Roosevelt Avenue, Redwood City. <br /> MEMBERS PRESENT: Commissioners Castle, Hayes, Knecht, Pound, <br /> Schlesinger, Weintraub <br /> MEMBERS ABSENT: Commissioner Anderson <br /> STAFF PRESENT: Max C. Weeks, Parks & Recreation Director <br /> GUEST PRESENT: Mrs. Sylvia Knecht <br /> Commissioner Weintraub indicated that two items that were discussed during <br /> the September meeting were inadvertently left out of the minutes. She <br /> wished to add to the September minutes, Agenda Item 2, the discussion <br /> of an option of setting a seasonal dollar limit to the amount of vanda- <br /> lism that would be tolerated at Hoover Pool and then have the facility <br /> closed if vandalism persisted. The second item was the discussion of <br /> developing a joint meeting of the Commission, a Police representative, <br /> and citizens in the Hoover Pool neighborhood to discuss the problem, <br /> the options, and possible solutions. These options will be more thor- <br /> oughly discussed and implemented next season if vandalism increases. <br /> MOTION: Commissioner Knecht moved, seconded by Commissioner <br /> Schlesinger, to approve the minutes of the September <br /> 13, 1978, Regular Business Meeting, with the correc- <br /> tions stated above. The motion passed unanimously <br /> by voice vote. <br /> CORRESPONDENCE <br /> Mr. L�leeks distributed a copy of the City Roster, the Mid-Peninsula Open <br /> Space District Plan, and the Adopted Budget for Fiscal Year 1978-79 to <br /> the Commissioners. <br /> AGENDA ITEM 1 . DISCUSSION - INCORPORATION OF CIVIC CULTURAL COMMISSION <br /> WITH PARKS & RECREATION CO��MISSION (RE: COUNCIL MINUTE <br /> ORDER #78-222) <br /> Mr. Weeks referred to the copy of the minute order #78-222 and a copy <br /> of the letter from Marcia Poncia which he sent to the Corr�nissioners. <br /> Mrs. Poncia recently resigned from the Civic Cultural Commission and <br /> suggested the possibility of combining the Cultural Comnission and the <br /> -1- <br />
