_ , .•�•, ,,.�+, <br /> � ��� <br /> PARKS & RECREATIOP� DEPARTMENT MONTHLY REPORT <br /> DESIGN & DEVELOPMENT <br /> OCTOBER 1978 <br /> Redwood Shores <br /> The final acceptance of the turfing and landscape work for the new park <br /> areas at Redwood Shores has been delayed pending repair work which must <br /> be completed in several areas of the turf. The replacement of a few <br /> trees and shrubs must also be completed prior to final approval . Over- <br /> all , the areas are doing quite well and acceptance by the City for the <br /> work should be forthcoming in November. <br /> Palm Park <br /> The play apparatus, picnic tables, and benches have now been received <br /> and are being installed in the park. The new fencing is complete and <br /> the small shelter is being assembled for construction. Every effort is <br /> being made by the contractor to complete the work by the end of November. <br /> Canyon Park <br /> The application for State funds from the SB174 Block Grant Program is <br /> pending approval by the State Department of Parks & Recreation. Approval <br /> of the application is expected sometime in November. <br /> Red Morton Park <br /> The working drawings for the installation of the new lighting at the <br /> ball fields have been reviewed for final preparations. Various correc- <br /> tions and additions are being finalized by the consultant together with <br /> the construction cost estimate. These plans will be ready for State <br /> review prior to December 1 . A preliminary review of the working draw- <br /> ings for the picnic area and play apparatus area has been completed and <br /> the plans will be ready for final review by November 15, 1978. <br /> Hawes Park Re-Lighting <br /> Preliminary discussions together with a field analysis with the electrical <br /> engineering consultant were completed and a proposal for the design of the <br /> re-lighting from the consultant is forthcoming. If acceptable, a contract <br /> will be drafted for council approval in order to proceed with the plans <br /> and specifications for this project. <br /> -4- <br />
