The maintenance of all of the new park
areas will be transferred to the park division personnel by the first
of the year.
Palm Park
The work at Palm Park is nearly 90 completed. All that remains is
for the construction of the small shelter and the planting of the shrubery
in the shrub bed areas around the park. The small sidewalk to the rear
of the park together with the fence access point are yet to be completed.
The rains during the month of November delayed the progress on the project;
however, every effort is being made to expedite the work so that completion
can be realized as soon as possible.
Canyon Park
The application for State funds from the SB174 Block Grant Program con-
tinues to await the approval of the State Department of Parks & Recrea-
tion. There has been some delay in receiving the necessary documents
from the State Clearing House for this project. As soon as approval is
granted, every effort will be made to expedite the project.
Red Morton Park
There have been a few minor changes in the design for the new lighting
at the ball fields and also in the design of the picnic area and play
apparatus area. These changes are noa being considered by the consul-
tants and are being finalized in preparation for final review and
acceptance of the plans and specifications. Current schedules indicate
that these projects should be available for bidding the latter part of
January.
-8-
