• ` �„r � <br /> REDWOOD CITY PARKS & RECREATION COMf1ISSI0N <br /> t�EETING OF JANUARY 14, 1976 <br /> � The regular business meeting of the Parks & Recreation Commission was <br /> called to order to 7:31 PM in Conference Room 1 at the Community Activities <br /> Building, 1400 Roosevelt Avenue, Redwood City. <br /> MEMBERS PRESENT: Commissioners Pound, Rollins, Schlesinger, �deintraub, <br /> 4Ji 1 son <br /> MEMBERS ABSENT: Commissioner Aldrich (excused) , Chairman Knecht <br /> STAFF PRESENT: Director Max C. Weeks <br /> Administrative Assistant Tom Ferrando <br /> � Recreation Superintendent Bill Paulson <br /> Park Superintendent Pasco Balzarini <br /> AUDIENCE: Lori Parks, 1246 North Road, Belmont <br /> Robert Moyer, 625 Laurel Street, Redwood City <br /> Chairman Knecht was absent due to illness; therefore, Vice-Chairman Pound <br /> conducted the meetin�. <br /> MOTION: Commissioner Schlesinger moved to accept and approve <br /> the minutes of the December 10, 1975, regular business <br /> meeting, seconded by Commissioner Rollins. The motion <br /> carried unanimously by voice vote. <br /> Vice-Chairman Pound stated that the Commission had received correspondence <br /> from the California Park and Recreation Society inviting the Commission to <br /> attend the Annual California and Pacific Southwest Conference to be held <br /> February 27 through March 2. Vice-Chairman Pound inquired as to which <br /> Commissioners have been chosen to attend the Conference. Mr. Weeks replied <br /> that Commissioners Knecht and Schlesinger would be attending the Saturday <br /> and Sunday sessions. <br /> Vice-Chairman Pound welcomed members of the audience and invited them to ask <br /> questions and add their comments to the discussion. <br /> AGENDA ITEM 1 . Request of Redwood Citv Kiwanis Club for Extension of Use of <br /> Community Activities Building <br /> Vice-Chairman Pound inquired if inembers of the Redwood City Kiwanis were <br /> going to be present at the meeting. P�Ir. t�eeks stated that members of the Club <br /> would not be present. He further indicated that while the Board had not pre- <br /> sented a formal request for an extension they had approached the Department <br /> informally through Chairman Knecht who is President of Kiwanis Club. Commis- <br /> sioner Schlesinger stated that he was aware of the Club's desire to secure <br /> an extension through his recent conversation with a club member. <br /> Vice Chairman Pound inquired as to whether the Operational Policy Committee <br /> had met to review Building Use Rules. Mr. Weeks stated that the Operational <br />
