Cyprien, Ed Rosen and Noreen Will : <br /> MOTION: Corrmissioner Weintraub moved to accept and approve the minutes <br /> of the July 14, 1976 Regular Business Meeting, seconded by <br /> Comnissioner Knecht. The mQtion carried by voice vote. <br /> AGEP�A ITEM 1 - Request of Sequoia Stamp Club to Discuss Co-sponsorship <br /> Requirements <br /> Chairwoman Pound welcomed Sequoia Stamp Club members Ed Rosen and Noreen <br /> Will . Mr. Weeks indicated that Superintendent Paulson had been contacted <br /> by members of the Stamp Club in an effort to discuss problems the Club is <br /> experiencing in meeting some of the requirements of the co-sponsorship <br /> policy. He then called on the representatives of the Stamp Club to make <br /> their presentation. <br /> Mr. Ed Rosen, a past president of the Sequoia Stamp Club, intraduced him- <br /> self and Ms. Noreen Wi1T, the current president. Mr. Rosen explained <br /> that essentially the problem dealt with the Club's inability to meet the <br /> 70% residency requirements for co-sponsored clubs. He explained that <br /> there were not many stamp clubs in the area, and that the number of stamp <br /> collectors in Redwood City were quite limited. He indicated that due to <br /> these reasons and the fact that stamp collecting is not a widely practiced <br /> hobby, the Club must draw membership from as far north as San Mateo and as <br /> far south as Mountain View. For these same reasons Mr. Rosen indicated it <br /> was very difficult to raise the membership in a specific geographical area. <br /> Accordingly, Mr. Rosen felt that it would not be possible for the Club to <br /> meet the 70� co-sponsorship requirement. <br /> He further stated that the anticipated cost to pay building rental fees <br /> would require more than �ioubling the existing membership dues (from $3.00 <br /> to $7.00 per year).
