REDWOOD CITY PARKS & RECREATION COMMISSION MEETING OF OCTOBER 13 , 1976 The regular meeting of the Parks and Recreation Commission was called to order by Chairperson Pound at 7 : 34 p . m . , in Conference Room 1 of the Community Activities Building , 1400 Roosevelt Avenue , Redwood City . MEMBERS PRESENT : Commissioners Buckhout , Knecht , Pound , Weintraub , Schlesinger ( 1 vacancy ) MEM, LRS ABSENT : Commissioner Rollins STAFF PRESENT : Director Max C . Weeks Park Superintendent Pasco Balzarini Recreation Superintendent Bill Paulson Administrative Assistant Tom Ferrando GAP STUDENTS : Tim Anderson , Phil Powell , Michael Bartol , Dana Watts CITIZENS PRESENT : Mr . & Mrs . S . E . Trozdon , Sunnyvale Mr . & Mrs . Harold Stern , San Carlos Mr . & Mrs . Warren Weinstock , Redwood City Rupert Taylor , Belmont MOTION : Commissioner Weintraub moved to accept and approve the minutes of the September 8 , 1976 Regular Busi - ness Meeting , seconded by Commissioner Buckhout . The motion carried unanimously by voice vote . AGENDA ITEM 1 . Presentation of Film of Red Morton Park Opening , June 5 , 1976 - Peninsula Movie Makers Mr . Harold Stern , past president of the Peninsula Movie Makers , intro- duced the various members of the club present and indicated that the club had been affiliated with the Parks and Recreation Department for almost ten years . He said that the Peninsula Movie Makers had wanted to make the film of the park opening and present it to the Department as a gift to demonstrate the club ' s public minded spirit . Mr . Stern then introduced Mr . Rupert Taylor , also a past president , and indicated that Mr . Taylor had provided 90% of the effort in the production of the film , by actually taking the footage , editing it , putting sound to it and making the titles . Mr . Taylor then showed the film . - 1 -
