Mr . Ferrando indicated that <br /> SB 576 and AB 4208 had recently been defeated in the Legislature . <br /> Chairperson Pound inquired as to whether the ballot arguement in favor <br /> of Proposition 2 provided in the fact sheet which was included in the <br /> Commission packet , was the same ballot arguement which would appear in <br /> the state supplied voter ' s handbook . Mr . Weeks responded that he sus - <br /> pected some of the substances of the arguements are the same , but he <br /> doubted that they were identical . Discussion ensued with respect to <br /> the disbursement of the 85 million allocated to cities and counties ; <br /> an estimate of the money which would be available to the City of Redwood <br /> City ; the amount of money being allocated to the County of San Mateo ; <br /> the criteria that would be utilized in disbursing the county ' s allot- <br /> menc.. ; and the status of Redwood City ' s share of the 1974 State Park <br /> Bond funds . Chairperson Pound additionally commented that the fact <br /> sheet sent to the Commission provided only data which favors the pas - <br /> sage of Proposition 2 and that the absence of opposing arguements did <br /> not supply the Commission with sufficient information to make a well <br /> considered judgement . Mr . Weeks indicated that the Department would <br /> attempt to provide as much information as possible , both pro and con , <br /> in the future . He also suggested that the appropriate time to examine <br /> all elements of a bill and determine whether it should be supported is <br /> when it is being considered by the Legislature rather than when it <br /> reaches the ballot . <br /> REPORTS <br /> REPORT ITEM 1 . Departmental Monthly Reports <br /> Commissioner Schlesinger commented on the joint meeting of the City <br /> Council , the Parks and Recreation Commission , and the Senior Center <br /> Study Committee to be held on Wednesday , October 27 at the Veterans <br /> Memorial Building . Mr . Weeks inquired as to whether all Commissioners <br /> would be present . Commissioner Buckhout indicated that he would be <br /> unable to attend due to previously scheduled surgery . Commissioner <br /> Knecht said that it appeared many seniors would be attending the meet- <br /> ing and encouraged his fellow Commissioners to thoroughly study the <br /> architectural report so as to be able to answer any questions that <br /> might arise . <br /> Chairperson Pound asked if there was any additional data on the Rotary <br /> Club ' s request to conduct a work project in Palm Park . Mr . Weeks indi - <br /> cated that he was still awaiting a formal letter of request from the <br /> club .
