PARK DIVISION MONTHLY REPORT
NOVEMBER 1976
The Parks Division Grounds Maintenance personnel completed their fall
turf renovation program during the month of November . This work involved
the spraying of all turf areas for broadleaf weed control as well as a
fertilization program utilizing the slow release formula of nutrient
materials . These materials will provide the necessary nutrients to
carry the turf through the winter and into early spring without any
further fertilizer treatment . The broadleaf weed control herbicides
will protect the turf areas from weed infestation which is so prevalent
during the fall and winter months .
Each district crew together with the resident crew have completed the
fall planting of bulbs and bedding plants in all of the planting areas .
The key areas which received this planting treatment include the City
Hall , Municipal Services Center , Municipal Marina , Downtown areas ,
Red Morton Park , and a few areas along the parkways at Redwood Shores .
The bulbs and bedding plants include violas , primroses , pansies , ciner-
arias , ranunculas , calendulas , daffodils and a mixture of tulips .
The daily maintenance and lining of the football and soccer fields at
the various schools and city fields continued through November .
-10-
