RECREATION DIVISION MONTHLY REPORTS <br /> DECEMBER 1976 <br /> COMMUNITY LEISURE SERVICES <br /> After- School Sports ( Grades 4- 6 ) <br /> Early December was used by all female and male coaches in organizing <br /> basketball teams for all students who registered for this program . <br /> Team practice was held for two weeks and each team had one game <br /> scheduled prior to the Christmas break . <br /> At the Christmas break , the following number of teams had registered <br /> for play in January and February : 1 ) girls combined 4th through 6th <br /> grades = 9 teams ; 2 ) boys combined 4th and 5th grades = 16 teams ; 3 ) <br /> boys 6th grade = 9 teams . Total participants are 368 compared to <br /> 396 last year . <br /> After-School Sports ( Grade 7-8 ) <br /> Again the first two weeks of December were spent in team organization <br /> and practice for both boys and girls level of play . Currently , the <br /> total number of registered teams include : 1 ) boys 7th grade = 6 teams ; <br /> 2 ) boys 8th grade = 6 teams ; 3 ) combined girls 7th and 8th = 8 teams . <br /> Total participants include 140 boys and 74 girls .
