ITEM 1 - Election of Officers : The following officers
were elected : Robert Buickerood , Chairman ; Marcia Poncia ,
Vice Chairman ; and Jean Groberg , Secretary .
Mr . Buickerood requested that each new member of the Com-
mission be given a copy of the presentation statement of the
draft of the ordinance establishing the Commission and one
of the ordinance itself . He changed the order of the agenda
by calling for reports prior to Item 20
REPORTS :
1 . Quilting Show : Mrs . Groberg said there were about 59
persons who submitted approximately 180 entries . The show
was well attended and received much praise . Since Mrs . Smith
had helped with the show in connection with a class she is
taking at College of Notre Dame , the recording secretary was
requested to write a letter thanking her for the time she had
spent and setting forth the work she had done ,
Mrs . Groberg said it would have been helpful to have badges
naming the Commission members . Mr . Ferrando offered to make
up some , but Mr . Buickerood suggested that a unique badge be
developed for each event.
Mr . Buickerood asked whether Mrs . Groberg had considered
sending out a questionnaire to entrants requesting their
comments and suggestions regarding the show . She and
Mrs . Hartman agreed that this would be helpful in planning
a future event of this kind . The Commission thanked the
Committee and Staff for doing an excellent job .
