CIVIC CULTURAL COMMISSION <br /> Minutes of Meeting <br /> June 5 , 1975 <br /> The meeting was opened by Mr . Robert Buickerood , Chairman , at <br /> 7 : 45 , p . m. , in the Conference Room of the Community Activities <br /> Building , 1400 Roosevelt Avenue , Redwood City. <br /> COMMISSIONERS PRESENT : Mr. Buickerood , Chairman ; Marcia Poncia , <br /> Vice Chairman ; Annette Howitt , and Alice Kennedy. <br /> COMMISSIONERS ABSENT : Jean Groberg , Joyce Hiscox , and Fernando <br /> Vega . <br /> GUESTS : Mrs . Gladys Woodhams , Redwood City Heritage Association <br /> Mr, William Nemoyten , Director of San Mateo County <br /> Arts Council <br /> Mr . Karl Vollmayer , Redwood City Librarian <br /> MINUTES of the meeting of May 1 were approved with the change in <br /> Item 4 , Library Project , of ' SEATA" to CETA. " <br /> MINUTE ORDER #75 -89 of the City Council re no smoking in Council <br /> meetings was read and the Commission agreed to follow the same <br /> concept in its meetings . <br /> CORRESPONDENCE : <br /> 1 . The Harris Report : Commissioners had received copies <br /> of " Californians and The Arts . " <br /> • <br /> 2 . Letter from San Mateo County Choral Society thanking <br /> the Commission for its support of their recent concert <br /> 3 . Letter from San Mateo County Fair and Exposition Center <br /> extending an invitation to participate in the 1975 Crafts <br /> and Arts Exhibition and to be hosts and hostesses Satur- <br /> day , July 28 and August 9 . <br /> The new Commissioner , Mrs . Alice No Kennedy , was introduced . <br /> She is a writer who teaches Creative Writing for the Sequoia <br /> Union High School District at the Menlo Park Recreation Center , <br /> Fremont High School District at Cupertino , and College of Notre <br /> Dame in Belmont . Her interests include Music and Drama , having <br /> performed in each field . She was one of the charter members of <br /> Friends of the Library and is still active in that group . <br /> The Chairman then recognized Mr . Vollmayer , who said the Library <br /> project and mural wall will apparently be held over until the <br /> next year as June 30 , the cutoff date for the fiscal year , is <br /> too soon for contracts to be. let. <br />
